Last night's rehearsal was really enjoyable. It felt like the orchestra really came together. Everyone was listening to each other, and we got a virtuous circle going of more listening driving further improvement. We explored the charming melodies of Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel and the 1st Movement of Schubert's Unfinished Symphony as we prepare for our next concert on June 20th.

It felt like everyone was really concentrating as we worked through the intricate passages of Hansel and Gretel. The combination of fairy tale charm and rich orchestration allowed the story that inspired Humperdinck's work to be imagined.

Transitioning to Schubert's Unfinished Symphony, the orchestra changed gears smoothly and embraced a very different style! The 1st Movement's haunting melodies and dramatic contrasts were really evident, and everyone’s commitment was clear.

Overall, the rehearsal was a very enjoyable evening. There were a few laughs, conversation over a coffee in the break and shared enjoyment of the music and each other’s company.

We are excited to bring these pieces to life in our upcoming concert and look forward to sharing them with our audience on June 20th at St Peters Church, Harborne.
