‘Springtime’ ~ A performance on May 6th by Harborne Orchestra

Writer's picture: M OsborneM Osborne

Our first face to face concert since the start of the COVID pandemic on Friday May 6th is themed around Springtime.

Our programme will include some movements from Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony, and Delius’ 'On Hearing the First Cuckoo in Spring'. Through these nature inspired pieces, and extracts of Bill Bryson’s ‘A Walk in the Woods’, Harborne Orchestra will bring you the delightful relaxing sounds of Spring.

Beethoven has, a deep love of nature. Hardly a day passed that he didn’t take a long walk through the woods and fields surrounding Vienna, drinking in the sights and sounds of the countryside and bellowing his inventions at top volume as he went. He found that setting ideal for thinking through whatever piece he was composing. The Sixth ‘Pastoral’ Symphony is the principal musical manifestation of his love of nature.

Please join us we'd love to see you and share 'Springtime'.
